VIDEO: CP’s Sara Haile-Mariam on MSNBC: “Election Day Puts Us in a Position of Power”
In case you missed it this morning, Campus Progress’ Sara Haile-Mariam was on MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown, discussing VoteAgain2010 and the prospects for youth turnout in the 2010 midterm elections. Sara stressed that although it is always difficult to get voters—and specifically young voters—to turn out in a midterm election, VoteAgain2010 partners are “working under the assumption and the belief that we can excite young voters by pointing out the obvious: election day puts us in a position of power.”
She also reiterated that “young people aren’t interested in taking our country back, we’re interested in moving forward…and voting again in 2010 is a way of doing that.”
