Foo Fighters and Campus Progress on SNL
Monday November 14, 2005
Who is Campus Progress’s favorite Foo Fighter? Pat? Nah, he’s cool, but he left a long time ago. Dave? He’s pretty good, too. But, duh, it’s Chris Shiflett. Chris not only was the Foo Fighter who invited Campus Progress to tour with the Foos and Weezer – he talked us up in the media, and now he’s plugged us on Saturday Night Live.
Check out these photos of Chris performing with Campus Progress stickers on his guitar. And check out this clip from the closing segment with Chris wearing a Campus Progress t-shirt! Thanks, Chris and Foo Fighters, for helping us put out the word about Campus Progress, our student organizing, and our work on issues from student debt to Iraq to Alito.
That’s a snazzy sticker, have we seen it somewhere before?
That’s right, on Chris Shifflet’s guitar!
The Foos played two songs on Saturday Night Live; during both songs, Chris’ guitar sported the blue and green.
And as if that wasn’t enough, mere minutes after their second performance, Chris slipped into a Campus Progress t-shirt to wear proudly during the closing sequence of the show. Note how amazing host Jason Lee finds Chris’ t-shirt.
We speculate Jason Lee’s fists are clenched in rage over not having on a shirt as cool as Chris’. (Yeah, as they say on SNL, that’s the ticket…)
And be sure to check out Campus Progress’ appearance on 60 Minutes, the same weekend!
