The 2009 Campus Progress National Conference: Delivering ChangeJuly 8, 2009 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C.
You organized in your community. You registered voters. You voted. Progressives won. Now what?
At the fifth annual Campus Progress National Conference, to be held on July 8, 2009, in Washington DC, hundreds of young people will come together to address the task of Delivering Change. They will discuss the critical challenges our generation faces, and to develop the ideas, networks, and innovations that will help us meet those challenges.
Our generation has a real opportunity to deliver change – to move the country in a strongly progressive direction. Just as our hard work was essential to bringing progressive results in 2008, we need to stay dedicated to working for progressive change, to pressing government for action, to ensuring an economic recovery effort that advances opportunity for all. At the Campus Progress National Conference, we’ll come together and prove we’re serious about a progressive future, and we’re not letting anyone stand in our way.

2009 Conference Application
A bit more about President Clinton (in case you had him confused):
William Jefferson Clinton was the first Democratic president in six decades to be elected twice – first in 1992 and then in 1996. Under his leadership, the country enjoyed the strongest economy in a generation and the longest economic expansion in U.S. history, including the creation of more than 22 million jobs.
After leaving the White House, President Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation with the mission to strengthen the capacity of people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence. Today the Foundation has more than 1,400 staff and volunteers around the world working to improve lives through several initiatives, including the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative which is helping 2 million people living with HIV/AIDS access lifesaving drugs.
In addition his Foundation work, President Clinton has joined with former President George H.W. Bush three times – after the 2004 tsunami in South Asia, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Hurricane Ike in 2008 – to help raise money for recovery efforts. He also served as the U.N. Envoy for Tsunami Recovery to help people build back better, and was recently named as the U.N. Envoy for Haiti.

I really need to hear him speak at the conference. With the way things are, I hope I make it. He is such a mentor.
— Emmanuel Nwokocha - Jun 21, 10:30 PM - #Clinton enforced the sanctions on Iraq which were responsible for the deaths of 1/2 a millions Iraqi children. Is this the mentor for young liberals?
— Scribbler - Jun 21, 11:02 PM - #Since when was “childhood” obesity” a top progressive issue? Oh wait, it must be after universal healthcare, stopping the war, gay rights, etc., right? And Clinton didn’t merely just “recognize” the impact of globalization (what does that mean anyways?) he actually initiated and furthered global economic exploitation through NAFTA and the WTO! And finally, this guy did more to criminalize youth of color and fill the prisons than any other president. Yeah he’s a shiny keynote speaker, but what does he have to do with progress, progressives, or youth who have been screwed over by his policies and actions?
