Richard P. Appelbaum

Richard P. Appelbaum is Professor of Sociology and Global and International Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He chairs the M.A. Program in Global & International Studies, a program that draws on classroom learning and internships with nongovernmental organizations, to prepare students for international careers in NGOs. Dr. Applebaum has done research on the impact of globalization on working people in the U.S., China, and elsewhere. He is the author or co-author of numerous books and articles, including Behind the Label: Inequality in the Los Angeles Apparel Industry, and Critical Globalization Studies.
