Christine Smallwood is The Nation’s assistant literary editor and a contributor to “The Notion.” A former staff writer at The Philadelphia Independent, she has contributed to Salon’s Books section. She is co-editor of the forthcoming literary journal The Crier, and one half of “The Junk Blog.”
