12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Center for American Progress
1225 Eye Street, NW

As Twitter and YouTube continue to reveal social unrest in Iran, Campus Progress invites you to a panel on how new media platforms have become organizing tools; exploring more specifically how these tools have broken news stories. The speakers will share their experiences with new media and offer advice on how to infiltrate mainstream news with new media technologies. The panel will feature Jesse Rauch, creator of the Facebook campaign that ultimately saved “Screen on the Green,” an annual summer film festival in Washington, DC, Willow Witte, the Executive Director of Join The Impact, and Latoya Peterson, Editor of Racialicious, a blog about the intersections of race and pop culture.
