Action Alliances | Eligibility
Not sure if you qualify for an Action Alliance? Here's the rundown on eligibility.

- Organizing Grants and Progressive Partnerships are awarded only to youth or student-led organizations, on or off college campuses.
- Unfortunately, we are not able to offer grants to organizations outside of the United States at this time.
- Organizing Grants and Progressive Partnerships are awarded only for specific issue campaigns or long-term projects to build the progressive movement in you campus or community - not general organizational funding, charitable works, publications,* or specific events.**
- If your campaign or project is focused on changing the behavior of an individual or group (for example, making your campus a welcoming place for GLBT students or getting your Governor to enforce environmental regulations), or creating institutions, long term coalitions, or other resources to help progressive young people make their voice heard, then your campaign or project is probably eligible.
If you need help to organize a specific event, as opposed to a long-term campaign or project, please click here to request assistance from the Campus Progress Events Team, or email speakers@campusprogress.org. We also offer grants for progressive campus publications. You can find out more by checking out the Campus Progress Publications Network, applying for a for your campus publication, or contacting us at publications@campusprogress.org. - Organizing Grants are to be used in accordance with the purposes of a nonprofit educational 501(C)(3) organization only, which can include campaigns on ballot initiatives, legislation; changing school policies, etc., but never partisan or electoral candidate activities.
- Organizing Grants and Progressive Partnerships are very rarely awarded to groups that are chapters of other national, state, or regional organizations, especially if those organizations are not led by students. We want to devote our scarce resources mostly to youth-led organizations that don’t have other potential sources of national support. We do occasionally make exceptions, so let us know of any extenuating circumstances that we should be aware of when making our decision. If you are part of a chapter of a national organization, we can still help with events related to your campaign. speakers@campusprogress.org.
- Organizing Grants cannot be used on salaries, stipends, rent or equipment (equipment that will be used as tools for advocacy may be an exception).
- Organizing Grants cannot be use exclusively for charity or service projects.
