New Media Associate, Reform Immigration FOR America Campaign
Location: Washington, DC
Post Date: September 14th, 2009
About the Campaign: The campaign to Reform Immigration for America (RI4A) is a large coalition of local and national organizations that has come together to encourage Congress to pass humane immigration reform by early 2010. The campaign is working on multiple fronts -- generating policy recommendations, reaching potential supporters through a coordinated on- and offline field campaign, and raising issue visibility in the media.
A critical piece of the effort is building a large email and mobile list of supporters that can be mobilized on a moment's notice to support the passage of good immigration policies. The anti-immigration movement has been organizing their base for years, and recently mobilized over a million supporters to help pass damaging and inhumane anti-immigration policies. In order to win the passage of just and humane immigration reform, we must organize supporters in a coordinated way, both on and offline, to ensure that the progressive viewpoint is heard (loud and clear) on Capitol Hill.
