The USSA Foundation (USSAF) is the educational arm of the United States Student Association (USSA), the nation’s oldest and largest student organization. USSAF provides training, organizing manuals, and technical assistance to students to build the capacity of the national student movement. The Electoral Action Training (EAT) is a USSAF training created in partnership with Campus Camp Wellstone. The EAT trains student organizers in the skills and concepts of electoral organizing including registration, education, mobilization, coalitions and volunteer management with the goal
of building student power.
Trainer Responsibilities:
• Must be available to train at least 4 weekends per semester or 3 weekends
per quarter at least until the November 2010 elections (you will not train
every weekend that you are available)
• Pre-training check-ins and post-training evaluations with Training
Director, as well as filing post-training reports
• Participate in an intensive Trainer Training to be held in January 15-18,
2010 (travel, housing and most meals provided)
• Facilitate EAT workshops at designated USSA conferences
• A two-year commitment is required from January 2010 through January 2012
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in electoral organizing (i.e. voter registration, voter
education, voter mobilization, coalitions and volunteer management)
• Good organizational and communication/interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with student, higher education, and broader social and
economic justice issues and experience in diverse coalition building
• Must be a current college student (undergraduate or graduate).
• Must be able to attend the Trainer Training

by USSAF.
