Pat Robertson's desire to snipe, literally, at Hugo Chavez makes Mr. Hardie, vice president for Campaigns and Labor Affairs at TransAfrica Forum, wonder out loud about the good pastor's attitudes towards other dictatorial regimes.

Robertson opposed "one person, one vote" in the apartheid state South Africa, was close buddies with Zaire's notorious Mbutu Sese Seko, and opposed US government sanctions against Liberia's murderous Charles Taylor. Zaire's decades long socialist dictatorship, Liberia's war-ravaged autocracy and South Africa's apartheid regime are lightyears ahead of Chavez's general thuggery in today's Venezuela.
