Reconstructions from the Gulfcoast

I often honk by horn repeatedly and obnoxiously to get the attention of another vehicle that happens to come to a stop at the sametime I do.

Having noticed a series of pro-Bush stickers upon the bumper of a super-sized Hummer, I respectfully roll down my window and explain to the driver:

"Sir, you must not be aware of this but some asshole has put a number of bumper stickers on your truck that endorse George Bush and Dick Cheney or John McCain."

"It's certainly obvious that this is clearly a malicious act.  And for the benefit of sanity I suggest you pull over right now and remove them before anyone makes the connection between you and a president that has ensured that filling up the tank of your vehicle might only be feasible on payday alone."

Good Luck, sir.

Although counter intuitive to consider, I've come around 180 % on the much ballyhooed notion that presumes the longer Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama continue to square off amongst themselves, the less likely it might be for them to win the presidency.

IN fact, it's a difficult thing to believe when one hears of the kind of "Rovian" race bating, and appeals to the lowest common denomination that Hillary has deployed recently which happen to be very "Rovian".  For example-during the 2004 presidential election Karl Rove and staff distributed flyers to rural churchs that presumed Kerry intended upon banning the Bible if elected.

We know the Clintons will do just about anything to win and therefore there's little reason to suspect that the level of acrimony between the two Democratic candidates would not ultimately lead to a self-destructive and catastrophic marginalization of Democratic voters who both passionately endorse their Democratic nominee while expressing deep acrimony to the other candidate.  For this, Republicans sit back and smile amongst one another.  Whereas the GOP has a tendency to fall in line based upon the dictates of the RNC--at the exprense of popular and viable candidates who happen to have a real chance,  the opposite can be said of the Democratic Party.

Since I'm a card-carrying member of the Democratic Party and have had repeated exposure to meetings of significance, I can honestly say that while the GOP's meetings resemble a church gathering, many times the Democratic meetings find it difficult to move forward in any direction when everyone has an opinion to express even over the most mundane and ultimately unconsequential points.

However, as it plays out regarding the Hillary/Obama battle, such a viewpoint is severely naive, overrated and even strategically predictable.

I could be wrong but I highly doubt it.  The key thing to remember about both Dem's campaigning is the truly astounding number of citizens that are now getting involved in the process.  For just as Obama continues to bring young progressives to the table, Hillary--despite the animosity--is actually largely successful at the samething.

What this ultimately implies in my book is that the seemingly apparent "self-destructive" nature of the Democratic party has a deeper much more unifying principle in the end.

While Hillary Clinton herself has continually flipped the script upon her own campaign's chances, there's one thing I'm certain of.

First, every single time Obama and Hillary give speechs upon the campaign trail, we're beginning to see unprecedented numbers of new supporters.  When Hillary ultimately backs out she will have raised the bar significantly enough to persuade her followers to vote for Obama.  Obama would be wise then--not to choose Hillary as a potential V.P. candidate, rather perhaps part of Obama's cabinet.

Come June, I believe Hillary will eventually bow out of the race.  Furthermore, I'm just as certain that she will do anything and everything to endorse Obama and convince her supporters to do the same.

Since we still have about half a year left before the November elections, there's plenty of time for her to do this.  And so--in this respect---and against all conventional wisdoms, Hillary will play a deep role in providing millions of her very own supporters to come out and vote for Obama.  For when we look at the actual policies being represented by the candidates there is no way in hell that McCain comes anywhere close to the predominantly unilateral approach of the top Democrats.

Therefore, I do believe there's an underlying strategy here.  Sure Hillary wants to win and many of the comments she has made confirm this.  However, I do believe it's a stretch to say--given the circumstances of the times we live in--that Hillary would NOT endorse fellow Dem. Obama.  Will she endorse McCain??  This is about as likely as Bush admitting mistakes.

How do you justify going after Iran when "our" guy, Maliki, brought them in to begin with??
Since the typical media mantra that assumes Democrats will never be able to agree on anything is beginning to again pick up steam, I thought I'd come up with a way that might utilize a number of Dems and Progressives who would make up my Dream Team cabinet. I'm leaving out the Pres. and the V.P. for the moment just to make this interesting.

So, here goes. Just a few thoughts were I'm trying to incorporate those running for the presidency. I'm certain this list will pretty much be my own work of art and no one elses. However, consider:

White House Chief of Staff: Barrack Obama

Department of Veteran Affairs: Jack Murtha

Department of Housing and Urban Development: John Edwards

Office of Management and Budget: Henry Waxman

Secretary of Education: Maxine Waters

Un Ambassador--President Bill Clinton

Some of these obviously overlap and became a matter of particularities. Therefore I've included the same name for different agencies:

Secretary of Defense--Wesley Clark, John Kerry, Murtha??

Department of Commerce, Labor, Agriculture and U.S. Trade Representative: Byron Dorgan, George Miller, John Edwards, Bill Richardson

Secretary of State--Jo Biden, Carl Levin, Bill Nelson, Richardson Hillary Clinton (not as crazy as some assume)

Department of the Interior and/or Environmental Protection Agency: Al Gore

There are more of course. Gotta go for now.
We all know that Hillary Rodham Clinton has announced her presidential bid. What I've just learned has just come in fresh off the wires.

According to the Weekly World News tabloid she has already picked her running mate....and the winner is.......

BIGFOOT!!!

at least that's what the cover of Weekly World News says and who disagrees with them, huh???

I'll provide a scan of the cover as soon as I can.
Absolutely unbelievable.

If you've been watching C-SPAN at all today you will have had the opportunity to hear the thoughts of Rep. Steve King--Republican from Iowa in regards to the 100 hour Democratic Blitzkrieg. In short, Representative King feels emboldened to stand up and take on the Democrats by giving his perspective and interpretation of the Democrat's agenda.

He begins by assuming that it's noble to be interested in making such a difference specifically by actually taking Congress role of accountability and responsibility to heart.

But, that is where the praise ends. And it ends within the first minute of Rep. King's press conference. From here he goes on to explain just how far Democrats are going to deceive the public by endorsing those issues which American citizens have asked for repeatedly, often in a bi-partisan spirit.

Rep. King continues posits the notion that the 100 hour agenda needs the guidance of the GOP in order to follow "real time" vs. "Pelosi time". According to King, who apparently has been sitting in the back row of the House and Senate with a stopwatch, there's some significant difference between the 100 hour timeframe that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats assume and his own interpretation. And so--Rep. King offers to assist----no, not in reference to any bills or policies---but in order to teach Nancy Pelosi how to read a clock.

Rep. King, now that's some due diligence. Clearly, if the Domino's pizza delivery guy rings your doorbell a second after the 30 minute timeframe, you get your pizza free. And so here's my suggestion for a new bill in honor of you.

Let's call it the Domino doctrine. No, this doesn't refer to U.S. military policy in the Middle East or in Vietnam. Rather, this bill will penalize those who--by actually showing up to work to get something accomplished--run a second over the 100 hour mark. Like Domino's promise, this bill will then make all efforts a moot point the very second the legislative process passes the 100 hour mark.

Now that's something to be proud of.

.....uugghhh sorry. I just can't get that stupid commercial out of my head.
