For many of us, a typical work day ends at 6, making happy houring a challenge. Often it’s more like Happy 35 minutes by the time you get to the bar, order, and are able to put that well earned beer after a hard days work up to your lips! Thankfully, some bars extend their happy hour until 7:30 and some until 8. Here's a list of extended happy hours, and feel free comment if you know of other bars that cater to DC’s 9-6 working day!

Bourbon (Adams Morgan)- 1/2 beer until 7:30

Tortilla Coast (Capital Hill)- Beer and taco specials until close

Cafe Asia (1720 I Street, NW)-$1 per piece of Nigiri Sushi, $2 for selected draft beers, and discounted rolls until 7:30

Recessions (1823 L St. NW)- Enjoy lots of great specials until 8

The Science Club (1136 19th Street, NW)- Specials on beer and wine until 8

Lucky Bar (Dupont Circle) Assorted drafts from $2.50 to $3.75 a pint, rail drinks for $3.50, etc. until 8

Stetsons (U street) Different deals everyday until 8

Local 16 (U Street) enjoy 4 dollar drink specials until 8

Late night Fridays:

Pour House (319 Pennsylvania Ave, SE)- $3 bottles of Miller light, Bud light and Budweiser, $3 Yuengling drafts, and $4 rail drinks til 9 on Fridays.  Sign of the Whale also offers great specials until 9 on Fridays.

Weekend Happy Hours:

Rosemary's Thyme Bistro ( 1801 18th Street NW)- happy hour ends at 7, BUT they also have a happy hour from 4-7 on Saturday and Sunday.  Beer is $3 and glasses of wine and pitchers of margaritas are half off.

Check out La Tasca for another great weekend happy hour!

Feel free to comment if you know of other good late night happy hours!

Both Tom Tom's and Grand Central in Adam's Morgan have happy hours that I believe go to 9PM on weekdays. I think their drafts are $3 including on good stuff like Blue Moon.
