Good call

Good for you for being on your toes to stand up against this nasty campaign. I plan to attend/protest the Brown visit next week.

So, you're going to protest exposing violence against women??? I guess you would also be for repealing the 19th amendment. Give Ann Coulter a call and tell her you support her.

Blue Dun, are you sure you're not M. Night Shyamalan? Because that's a great twist you just made there trying to tie in exposing violence against women with Horowitz's seminar that is inherently racist. Give up the hasty generalization and take off the blinders already. Gender related-violence is not restricted to radical variants of Islam, nor is it strictly limited to any religion at all. Misogynistic attitudes and violence against women exist in even the most secular of countries, and include ethnic, racial, cultural origins that cross ALL racial, ethnic, and cultural lines. Until you are done trying to link violence against women as being rooted solely in a religious sub-group that doesn't mesh with your own views, OR until you are willing to simultaneously promote your own inclusive and broad-scaled domestic violence campaign against women thus providing you with the credibility to make such idiotic assertions on blogs like these, I'd suggest you listen to the advice Henry Rollins offers Ann Coulter in his letters to her, and shut the fuck up.

Last I checked in the United States a women's testimony in the court of law isn't regarded as inferior to that of a male and women aren't stoned to death for adultery and domestic abuse is not sanctioned against women by a holy book. The point isn't that there is no discrimination against women in the West but that compared to the Islamic world, it is very minor. And if you don't see that, you have your head in the sand. How can we as liberals not denounce radical Islam? Aren't we suppose to be for the opressed? For homosexuals and minorities? I guess victims of Islamic violence don't count. "Islamo Fascism" was a term coined by moderate Muslims during Algeria in the 90's when radicals killed over a thousand people. Do you not care for these victims? After the Iranian revolution, all the leftists were rounded up and killed or imprisoned. Whats so sinister about calling attention to this?

It doesn't surprise me that you use the term 'racist' with regards to Islam. The Nazis used race to describe Judaism as opposed to religion. You're in good company. Your last line testifies to your arrogant attitude towards a different viewpoint of which you clearly know nothing about. Have you ever read the Quran and Hadiths? Do you know the history of Islamic imperialism and how it came to be? Do you even follow the small tell-tale reports of Islams behavior in muslim countries? A very small taste...

No matter how developed we people are, no matter how we are establishing new industries like, IT, currency trading , finance, or no matter how we are progressing globally. But if our womens, our children are not safe even in their own house it would be the matter of shame for us.If you think you are in an abusive relationship, you can go to a number of people for help. Be careful, however, to keep your search a secret from your abuser.
I agree

I am completely agree with you Akshay, we should need to raise our voice against this evil. Financial companies like Link, should come ahead to help those needy people who need their assistance. Many international NGOs are working on it.

You are running behing MPAC
By Gary Johnson Oct 22nd 2007 at 6:20 am EDT
MPAC put its packet together by October 4th, complete with talking points for soundbite lovers and other misdirection methods.

When you are behind, you are behind. So, it is time for us all to catch up - I wonder - how quickly will the 130million women who were victims of genital mutilation catch up on the pleasures of sex?
