The College Republicans at George Washington University, in a scathing editorial about the lack of support for the war, have decided to put their money where their mouths are and actually do what they, as fervent war supporters of eligible age and physical condition, should do for what they believe.

They're going to go to Walter Reed and say hi to injured soldiers who actually signed up.

No, by all means. Go ahead and read that again a few times. If you figure out a way to pick your jaw up off the floor please let me know, as I've been trying for a good twenty minutes now.

On the one hand...

...The rhetoric used in their ad is absolutely daffy.

On the other hand, maybe if they use it around the guys at Walter Reed they'll get a bit of reality shaken into them.

But far more importantly, if they're going to visit, I hope it brightens some wounded vet's day. And I hope the CRs will have the good sense to check their politics at the door, just go in, and listen.

This also touches upon one of America's strong points, in that our good treatment of wounded soldiers is something we place more emphasis on than even Britain; in Britain, returning wounded soldiers were getting stuck in hospitals alongside civilians, harassed by anti-war protestors at their hospital bedside telling them to take off their uniforms, etc.
