Via Ezra, a new bill in Virginia seeks to prohibit public universities from accepting undocumented students. As Ezra points out, this is a great idea because the last thing we need to is to educated immigrants and allow them to contribute to our economy. Brilliant.

If these undocumented students are going to pay their way through school there should be no reason they shouldn't be allowed to enroll. Undocumented students have a hard time getting financial aid because they aren't on the books -- fine -- but if they want to come anyway the gov't should be happy that they are going to contribute financially to public institutions.
