On March 19th, 2003, US troops on the orders of President Bush invaded the sovereign nation of Iraq. The president anticipated that the US soldiers would be greeted as liberators, that it would be a short war and a qick victory. Now, 4 years later, US soldiers are still in Iraq, ocuupying a country that is openly hostile towards them. A strong insurgency has been built up, there are attcks every day. Over 3000 soldiers have died so far. There is no exit strategy, no timetable for withdrawal; in short, there is no end in sight. And all we hear from the president is more talk about victory in Iraq. Can there ever be such thing as a US victory in Iraq? I invite your response.
