Genocide Awareness...

On October 19th and 20th the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform had a display known as the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) at the University of Kentucky relating abortion to the Holocaust, lynchings of African Americans, and other attrocities. The display was especially graphic with photos of a black man hanging from a tree, gassed Jews, and aborted fetuses. Has anyone else encountered this organization at their campuses?

I was aware of an earlier campaign at UK as well that involved several trucks driving around campus with giant photos of aborted fetuses, although I never encountered this display. I asked one of the participants in the GAP if they were responsible for this event as well, and she confirmed. Not only that, she also told me that the organization does air shows, which unfortunately neutralized one of my ideas for our CP satire publication, The Colonel. Has anyone else seen this organization at their campus? I'm slightly perplexed as to why they would sponsor both the event with the trucks and the GAP on the same campus.

The liberal groups on campus did manage to muster a response to this organization, but the distinction between the pro-choice camp with hand written posters and the veritable fort set up by CBR was quite disheartening. Anyway, if anyone has had similar experiences with the organization, I would appreciate some feedback in case they make a third visit--although I don't think the leftists groups will be able to compete with an air show.

I am not sure...

...if it was the same group. But anti-choice groups came to my college campus once and actually my high school. But the high school forced the group to leave. Apparently, these groups are fairly habitual about attending schools and showing their displays. I dont really have any advice though. I would just ignore them.

I honestly believe they may have done more harm than good. The display angered quite a few people, and it also provided a nice rationale for a CP facebook group.

They've been around....

They were at Cornell once a couple years ago. It's hard to counter them with their huge graphics, but at a liberal school like mine, it scared away even conservatives.

Perhaps satire is the best medicine for a more conservative school. Ask your fellow students if abortion doctors should be brought to the Hague, or if would-be mothers who abort their fetuses are murderers. That should get them thinking about how radical this position is. But that's the extent of my limited advice.

Good luck with future campaigns. BTW your last issue kicked ass.
