So there's a good possibility that I've just been completely out of the loop, but when a friend of mine introduced me to the incredible new music site The Hyper Machine, I was elated. The site, an aggregator of music from music blogs, serves as basically digg for music. The site allows you to order the blog based on date, popularity and traffic in various countries. It's a great way to keep abreast of the latest music trends in various genres ranging from R&B and pop to hipster and stuff from this whole soul revival thing going on. On top of that, the music links to the blogs, many of which have legal Mp3s of the music.
Here's what I've been listening to:
Axwell and Bob Sinclair's What a Wonderful World- This song is great despite the fact that the little monologue at the beginning is kind of frightening. Overall, I'd say this is the best single from Bob Sinclair since "World, Hold On" and makes me want to dance when I listen to it on the metro.
Basement Jaxx's remix of Adele's Cold Shoulder- Adele is basically wonderful and Basement Jaxx perfectly encapsulates everything that makes her great in his neo-progressive house remix. I actually do start dancing on the metro when this song hits my ipod.
Basement Jaxx's Firecracker remix- Yes, I'm overdoing it a bit. But these are some of the best mixes I've heard in a while and have the uncommon ability to hold my attention for the full duration of the track.
Today's Sartorialist. He's basically baller. I actually like the tie tucked into the pants. I won't do it myself until I see someone on the street doing it. I have shame. Oh, and is this a joke? Is he trying to lose?
