The Corcoran Gallery of Art is perhaps one of the most amazing, yet under-appreciated sites to visit in the DC area. This is most likely due to the fact that, unlike most exhibits, things (events and exhibits) are not free of charge. Despite this impediment, I have to place a plug for an event I think will be well worth the $18 admission fee.

The Corcoran Gallery is the longest serving, privately supported gallery in the DC area. Founded in 1860, the museums's focus on American art is striking and refreshingly modern. The Gallery (and Art School0 are located at 17th and New York Avenue, and has been a center of the revival of contemporary and 19th century American art.

An event tomorrow entilited Peter Eisenman: Ten Canonical Buildings 1950-2000 proves to be yet another oustanding lecture provided by the gallery. The event will focus on architechts Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Luigi Moretti, Louis Kahn, Robert Venturi, James Stirling, Le Corbusier, Aldo Rossi, Rem Koolhaas, Daniel Libeskind, and Fank Gehry and their commonalities. Peter Eisenman, a professor at my home university, will discuss how each architecht has helped to shape the discourse and trajectory of art in their field. He will also hold a book signing after the event. I strongly suggest you visti the gallery for this event tomorroww at 7pm. The cost is$18 for members and $22 dollars for non-members.

Today's Sartorialist. Are there moments like this in DC. I feel like there have to be. If you see one, please feel free to email me about! It'll make me insanely happy.
