I am attending the Young Feminist Summit in New York late July with the hopes of learning a thing or two about organizing women's rights organization on campus.

A few questions ...is anyone else going? It's supposed to be huge among college students this year.

Also, what issues concerning women are most important at your campus?

I think that on every campus, it's safe to say that women's safety is an issue of concern ...

While there are men's groups out there speaking out against it, there are more that still need to be done.

Lauren -

Have you considered talking to the WMST department at your school to see if they'll sponsor you?

The director with whom I'd spoken about the conference threw that idea around for students who want to go and have women's rights organizations foot the bill.

I would do the same, but I just wouldn't feel comfortable with taking money from these organizations that can use it for other causes.

Ha! Definitely, I will. I think it'll be a good chance to network.

Although some people are already suspicious of me, since I'll be one of the few males there.
