Sometimes It Snows In April (and sometimes it rains in July)

Dear unpredictable weather of DC: This past Sunday, I was most offended by your unpredictable weather escapades as you once again had me running down U St. in a furious attempt to find shelter because even though I’m rocking a natural, as a sista, you know I DON’T LIKE GETTING MY HAIR WET.

Granted, I am used to your varying moods, and should know by now that at the mere change of breeze you can go from hot and humid to rainy and humid, however, when you decided that I would look better arriving to work in soggy Chucks, rain soaked denim jeans, with a broken umbrella (luckily my hair did not get wet) I would say that I wildly disagree. Nonetheless, this is just a little note to say that while you can be somewhat romantic (oh, the summer fling of ’06) and welcomed at times (too much sun annoys my Capricorn nature ), I would appreciate if you would cease on the days I’m not wearing my headwrap, because even though I’m rockin a natural, as a sista, you know I HATE GETTING MY HAIR WET!

                                                                                    Much Luv,

                                                                                         Nia I’man Smith

Dear Nia I’man Smith,

I don't care. Please stop wasting my RSS reader's inbox and my time with posts about your hair. When you address your comments to the weather, you should consider e-mailing them to the weather instead of posting them on Social Capital.

Much Luv,

Moon Dog
