Mostly just to embarrass Elana ...

Here's a link to Campus Progress Editor Elana Berkowitz debating Karin Agness, a student activist from Young America's Foundation, a conservative youth organization, this weekend on C-SPAN.

Just click here, and then watch the episode from Saturday, July 15. They go on about 8:45 (there's a handy clock in the top-left corner).

SEE incoherent arguments rebutted! THRILL as C-SPAN callers call Elana a communist! EXPERIENCE the American political process at its finest!

Oh, and a quick straw poll for our readers to fact-check the first glaring error purported by Agness (answer in the comments): What issue is more important to you? Social Security privatization or student loans?

Social security privatization was a clear dog from the start, and I'm generally pro-privatizing-this-and-that.

Student loans hit me in my pocketbook, but most of the politics surrounding them strike me as crass rent-seeking that I wouldn't want to be associated with.
Oh, and...

Elena really kicked ass on CSPAN. Wow. Also, good to hear the CSPAN callers haven't become any less of an oddball bunch since last I watched.

Rock on girl! You did amazing! You sounded so articulate and smart...

Your answer to your first caller is exactly what we need to be hearing from our MSM. You said it more eloquently than I've heard any of the talking heads say combined.

I'd love for your oil caller to cite which study said there's a ton of oil we can depend on in Alaska.

Congratulations on the Harvard Business School accomplishment as well. Please dont venture too far from CP :)
