A variety of books have already been nominated on the social-networking site, as prime examples of “ideologically-slanted texts.”
While one user complains that a book will “demonize men, praise homosexuals, [and] transvestites,” another reviewer has an objection to a text because it describes “how great working in the public sector can be.”
Here is a brief list of user critiques found on CampusReform:
Title: American Public Administration
Author: Robert A. Cropf
"I give this book a Statism review because of the very pro work the the (sic) government attitude it portrays. It is the point of the course, but I disagree with strong bureaucracy and the push to work in the public sector. This class and book push bureaucracy, and how great working in the public sector can be." - Jason Hensley
Title: Gendered Lives
Author: Julia T. Wood
"Well, if you want to demonize men, praise homosexuals, transvestites... read this book. This is an excerpt from a paper I am writing in my class:
"I don’t hate women; I love them. I don’t want to emulate the characteristics I admire in them, however. Gendered Lives (Wood, 2007), did not seem to represent a true “men’s” movement. Rather, more of the men’s feminist movement. Listed throughout the pages are the wrongs of years past and real or perceived modern day injustices perpetrated on women, lesbians, homosexuals, metrosexuals, asexuals and effeminate men. Undoubtedly, if they find another “sexual” that has been “oppressed,” the next edition will make heroes of their struggle against white Anglo-Saxon protestant men (WASPM’s), too." - reclaimtherepublic
Title: The Political Brain
Author: Drew Westen
"The author of this books (sic) has no qualms in showing Republicans in as ill of light as possible. Westen repeatedly puts down all Republicans and President Bush especially as being idiotic and emotionally driven. According to Westen only Democrats deal in facts and figures and do not attempt to appeal to human emotions." - rroth1186

Maybe you simply want to promote an alternative opinion; fine, do so. Go write your own textbook. The shame is the skew you (collective) would offer would doubtlessly be wrong. The reason for the fallible information is the forced redefining of fact to fit your message.
Maybe you don't like the geology textbooks because they talk about metamorphic rock. Yeah, a rock that doesn't stand for the status-quo!
You know, I'll bet there a a dozen fundamentalist colleges you can attend that suppress fact and promotes fiction. Go there.
