Bush commented yesterday on the resignation of Cuban president Fidel Castro, promising that "the United States will help the people of Cuba realize the blessings of democracy." The irony of his statement is brilliantly captured in Steve Bell's cartoon here.

It is ironic that essentially everyone in America seems to think that Fidel Castro is this heinous man who is using his dictatorial powers to manipulate the Cuban people. While this may or may not be true, he still has support from a lot of Cubans. As the video shows, a lot of people are happy because they believe it can now be a time for liberty and freedom.

When it all boils down, some like him, some hate him. I guess it's kind of like how people sometime feels about Bush.
