The New York Times reported today that the Department of the Interior will be probed for potential wrongdoing related to the oil business.

The main accusation is that Interior officials with ties to oil companies illegally distributed government contracts concerning oil royalties to their favored companies. Considering that the former head of the department, Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton, recently joined Shell Oil, this investigation should prove revelatory, to say the least.
