The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear a challenge to Alabama's ban on the sale of sex toys, according to an AP story.
Sherri Williams, owner of Pleasure stores, tried to challenge Alabama's 1998 "anti-obscenity" law, banning the sale or distribution of objects designed to stimulate the genitalia. She asked for the law to be thrown out as a violation of privacy, however, a local court upheld the law, and yesterday, the Supreme Court refused to hear the case.
Williams uttered the best line ever in response to the court's decision: "My motto has been they are going to have to pry this vibrator from my cold, dead hand. I refuse to give up," she said.
This decision will force Alabama residents to continue driving across state lines in order to purchase sex toys.
I say we start a campaign to support Alabam-anians (?) by sending them shipments of free dildos and vibrators. Who's with me?
