Warning: not serious blog post, neon colors and loud noises to follow. I'm going going back back to Cali Cali on Friday to visit my brother in LA and get my eat on in Tehrangeles, Koreatown, and Little Armenia. If there's one thing my brother and I do together besides eat food whose names we can't pronounce and make fun of hipsters shopping for $600 limited edition kicks at Undefeated, it's listen to M.I.A.

M.I.A. at The Echo

It's bad enough I'm leaving D.C. on August 3,  two days before the Sri Lankan sweetheart performs at the Virgin Festival in B-More. Now I hear that just 59 hours before my flight leaves for L.A., she'll be doing a special second show out there. WTF?

I usually keep disappointments like this to myself, but this type of tragedy is something that only my fellow bloggers at Campus Progress can help me get over. Let us begin the healing with song.

omg sdf i'm hype. amanda blank breaks my heart like i'm a little school girl every time she gets on the mic. you're not from philly are you sdf? one of my best friends from my childhood is a backup bassist for sweat heart, which as you know, ms. amanda blank is a member of. i first heard about her from the hot ass "bump" track. everything she touches is beautiful. i'm gonna disagree with your claim that M.I.A. is over. she and amanda actually did a track together called "take it easy" ("When a girl's in love/
It's a fucked up thing" 4x pretty much sums it up)

anyway, for all you readers not yet down with amanda blank. get down with her. get down with plastic little. get down with sweatheart. the philly hip-hop...no, f that. the philly music scene is crazy right now. dr. dog is the best rock band out. 215.

From North Adams, MA

LA sounds enticing, but if you were in North Adams today for lunch you could have a roasted pork shoulder that serves four (well, in your case maybe not that many), a plate of three enormous fish tacos and if you were of age a great mojito for $5 at Cafe Latino at MassMoCA, with some pretty nice music although you'd be three days too late for the six hour bang the drum marathon (how many mojitos would that be?) then for dinner sweetbreads to start and paella to finish at Gramercy Bistro.
