This Thursday, May 1st, is the 5th anniversary of President Bush declaring "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq. On this day in 2003, he stated that all major combat operations had ended and that our goals had been achieved.
We know better.
Since then, U.S. military deaths have surpassed the 4,000 mark, sectarian militias dominate the Iraqi landscape, and violence continues to rage. The mission is far from accomplished. We want to end this war safely, quickly, and responsibly and believe that you do too.
That's why Campus Progress has put together an Iraq Action Toolkit to help you get engaged and add your voice to the thousands already demanding to bring our troops home. Whether you're involved in a peace group or are getting together with your friends to address the war, we're here to help you.
