So I've watched the infamous Gravel video a few times now and I still don't get it, though I'm pretty sure the pond represents hope (the rock = youth?). Overall, it's got a lot of potential: the 1:10 of Gravel staring creepily at the camera is pitch-perfect, as is the tossing of the rock into the water. The final minute and a half, however, needs some work: Gravel slowly walks away from the camera along the edge of the pond. Clearly the candidate doesn't know how to end a well-told story (a criticism some people -- but not I -- have recently leveled at David Chase [coughcoughBadler]).
As somewhat of an authority on aesthetic matters, I've decided to offer my assistance with a few suggestions. Here, inspired by "Wayne's World," are three ways Gravel could have more effectively concluded his opus:
