On Wednesday, May 2, 2007, the Connecticut House of Representatives passed SB 1343, An Act Concerning Compassionate Care For Rape Victims, 113 to 36. This means all CT hospitals are required to dispense EC to rape victims, although there is leeway for future accommodation with the Catholic Church. What is left now is for Governor Jodi Rell to sign the bill; it looks like it is a high possibility, since she has been leaning towards the bill. If this happens, it will become a law October 1, 2007. For more information, here’s the article I received from the Hartford Courant.
