In June 2007, Campus Progress Action, in partnership with MoveOn.org and the Americans Against the Escalation in Iraq coalition (AAEI), held its first ever Iraq Action Camp with one goal in mind: to energize, educate and empower students to end the war and bring our troops home. Students from across the country joined together to learn, organize and rally for change.
Unfortunately, in 2008, the war continues. After a 2007 troop escalation, many have become increasingly frustrated with the situation on the ground and the response here at home. Campus Progress knows that students are now more energized than ever and need the information, tools and support to make an even bigger impact.
At the 2008 Iraq Action Camp, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Learn about what’s happening in Iraq from the experts
Discuss organizing strategy with Iraq war veterans, youth activists, Members of Congress, and others
Work with other student leaders from across the country to come up with a plan for bringing an end to this war – starting with your campus and community
Do you want to join a committed group of young people for the 2008 Iraq Action Camp? The Iraq Action Camps are offered free of charge, and some funds are available to assist with student travel expenses. So mark your calendars now. Click here to apply.
