Apply to attend the 2008 Iraq Action Camp - it's free!

Almost five years ago, the Bush Administration launched its war in Iraq. Now there are nearly 4000 Americans dead and 28,000 wounded, and tens of thousands of Iraqis killed. The violent conflict continues with no end in sight.

Do something about it. Sign up for a substantive and exciting few days of education, training, and action at Campus Progress’ upcoming Iraq Action Camp in Washington, DC from March 15-17, 2008.

This year’s camp will help to prepare students not only for the upcoming fifth anniversary antiwar activities, but also for longer term movement building when they return home to their campus and community. Do you want to join a committed group of young people for the 2008 Iraq Action Camp? The Iraq Action Camp is offered free of charge, and some funds are available to assist with student travel expenses. Click here to apply.

If there's one thing that legislators listen to, it's informed, assertive, and mobilized constituents. Find out the current state of Iraq legislation here, find the contact information for your Senators here, and find your House Member here.

Plan a vigil or e-vigil

Honor the fallen and wounded while helping students understand the human costs of the War in Iraq. Don't forget to invite a veteran ready to talk about the need for change on the war as well as the campus newspaper, radio, and TV station. If a web-based memorial would be more appropriate for your campus, check out Iraq Veterans Memorial and participate.

Cover your campus in posters

We know that it's time to change course on Iraq, but we must be vocal and visible. Contact iraq@campusprogress.org to request signs for your campus.
