Alternative Spring Break: Combating Climate Change 2008
Want to do more with your spring break this year?
Campus Progress is working with students and several partner organizations to organize the first Global Warming Alternative Spring Break at the University of California – Santa Barbara this March 24-27.
The alternative spring break will include trainings, workshops, and speakers from all aspects of the climate movement, including environmental justice, sustainability, and environmental policy. Located right on the beach, the alternative spring break will better educate, train, and empower students to take action on the climate crisis in their own lives, on their campuses, and on a national scale.
And of course, this is spring break, so students will have time to soak up the sun and relax on the beach, explore the biologically rich California coastline, and meet other students committed to solving the climate crisis.
We are hoping that this event can help to students across the country start new campaigns on their campuses to face the challenge of climate change, and that the camp can help students involved in existing campaigns become even more effective advocates and activists in their communities.
First things first – we need your help to make sure that your campus is represented! Check out the resources below to help spread the word about this Alternative Spring Break.
