Campus Progress and The Nation are pleased to announce we will be co-hosting a Student Journalism Training Day at the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC, on Monday, June 25, 2007.

Student journalists from across the country will have the opportunity to come together for one day full of workshops, panels, seminars, and informal discussions.  The event will be hosted by Nation editor Katrina vanden Heuvel and Campus Progress director David Halperin, and there will be addresses from  Fast Food Nation author Eric Schlosser and Nickel and Dimed author Barbara Ehrenreich. Other speakers include prominent editors, reporters, and cultural critics, including Helen Thomas, John Nichols, David Corn, Dahlia Lithwick, and many more. Keep checking back as we continue to add names!

Topics will range from covering corruption and cultural reporting to sessions on muckraking, blogging, writing about the law, and getting the interview. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply, but space is limited, so don't wait! A small number of travel grants are also available.

NOTE the extended deadline!! Applications will be accepted until June 18th or until we are full. Don't wait -- only about 20 spots left.
