People are often reluctant to talk about their financial situations, but having unmanageable levels of debt or trouble financing your education signals a failure of public policy, not a personal failing. If people do not speak openly about how they are being impacted by rising tuition, insufficient aid, and weak protections for borrowers, then nothing will change.
