No Escalation in Iraq - March on Washington
Organize a Carpool From Your Area
Saturday, January 27, 2007 Washington, DC
On Saturday, January 27 there will be a major mobilization in Washington, D.C. against the escalation of the Iraq war
Campus Progress wants to make sure that students are able to make their voices heard in Washington. That’s why we are offering travel grants of up to $300 for students organizing carpools or vans from their campus to the capital.
Grants will be awarded on the basis of:
- Financial Need
- Number of Students the Grant Will Assist
- Planned Involvement (For example - Are you going to write a blog post about the rally? Will you be attending the lobby day as well?)
Funds are limited, so we will not be able to help everyone. Carpool organizers receiving grants will be reimbursed by Campus Progress for part or all of their gas, vehicle rentals, or housing expenses (but try to find a friend or friend of a friend to stay with if you’re staying the night). We encourage you to look for other sources of funding instead of asking Campus Progress for the full cost, so we can bring as many students as possible to the march. Grantees are responsible for keeping all receipts and sending them to Campus Progress. We are primarily helping college and university students attend the rally. If you are not a student, you should apply for a travel scholarship with MoveOn.org.
Campus Progress also will make available signs, stickers, and other materials before the rally.
If you have any questions, please contact us at organize@campusprogress.org.
