Robert Gordon

Robert W. Gordon is Chancellor Kent Professor of Law and Legal History at Yale Law School. A graduate of Harvard College and Law School, he has taught at many law schools, including Buffalo, Wisconsin, Stanford, Harvard and Oxford. He is the immediate past president of the American Society for Legal History. The main subjects of his research and writing are the past, present, and possible futures of the legal profession and the uses that lawyers and judges make of history in legal arguments and decisions.
